Employee Supervision
Supervision of employees happens at many levels at Shasta Head Start. The SOPs that follow will help guide supervisors as they lead their employees.
Additional supervision SOPs:
Forms used in supervision:
- Employee Checklist for Success
- It is vital to the success of each center to complete the Employee Checklist for Success with all staff members on their first day at the site. Whether the staff member is a new hire or a current employee transitioning to the new site or into a new position, the checklist must be completed on their first day at the new site. It is the responsibility of the Site Supervisor/Head Teacher to ensure this checklist is completed on day one at the site and before working in the classroom.
- The Site Supervisor/Head Teacher should prepare the checklist by completing the form with the appropriate information. Each item on the checklist should be covered thoroughly to ensure comprehension.
- The On-Site Child Supervision Training must be completed prior to working in any classroom at the new site.
- Once complete, scan the form to HR. Ensure a copy of this checklist is given to the employee. The original can be kept in their staffing binder.
- For a transitioning Site Supervisor or Head Teacher, the Area Manager will take the lead on going through the checklist.
- Licensing Files will be scanned to the appropriate center on every new employee’s first day by the Human Resources Department. It is then the supervisor’s responsibility to print and ensure all needed documents contained within the file are checked off on the Licensing File Checklist. Supervisors will also ensure to document this process on the Employee Checklist for Success.
