Enter Attendance/Meal Count Record in Child Plus
The Attendance/Meal Count Record data is entered in to Child Plus by the Family Worker on a weekly basis. Once the data is entered for the week, run the Daily Attendance by Classroom report to verify the data entry for accuracy.
- Click the Entry Express
- Click the Attendance
- At the left, select the Agency, Site and Classroom
Note: Select Agency = Shasta Head Start Child Development
- Using the calendar, click on the date for which attendance and meal counts are to be entered.
- A list of enrolled participants is displayed. Complete the attendance and meal counts for every child on that day (notice that Child Plus defaults to everyone being present and eating every meal)
- Click the Non-Participant Meals link at the top of the screen and enter the number the non-participant (Teachers, Guests, etc.) meals for that day.
- Non-CACFP = Enter the number of adult meals (staff & parents) that ate at each meal.
- CACFP = Do not enter any information in this field, it is an alternative way to count children’s meals that we do not use.
- Once the number of meals for non-participants has been entered, click OK.
- Repeat the steps above for all days that are completed on the Attendance/Meal Count Record.
Verify Data Entry for Accuracy
After all attendance/meal record data is entered into Child Plus for the week, verify the accuracy of the entry in Child Plus.
- Click the Reports
- Click the Select a Report
- Click the Attendance category and choose report 2310 – Daily Attendance by Classroom.
- A new tab entitled 2310 – Daily Attendance by Classroom is displayed which is used to enter report criteria including:
- Agency
- Site
- Classroom
- Begin Date
- End Date
- Select all of the checkmarks and radio buttons shown in the screenshot below. This is critical to ensure that the report runs correctly. Once they have been selected correctly, the settings are saved and will not need to be reselected/re-checked each time the report is run.
- Click the Print button to print the report and compare the report to the Attendance/Meal Count Record. Modify data entry if required and reprint the report to compare data entry.
- When completed (all data entry has been verified), sign off that you have entered and submitted the data.
- Make a copy of the Attendance/Meal Count Record and report for your files.
- Send the original Attendance/Meal Count Record and report to the Food Service Coordinator within 2 business days of completion.
