6.3.2
Site Visits
Site visits can occur for two reasons:
- A family is exploring options and selecting a program for their child
- A family has selected a program and wants to become familiar with the location. The ITP meeting between sending and receiving staff may occur during the visit.
Sending staff should schedule the site visit with the parent and receiving staff in advance. The transitioning child may or may not attend the site visit.
During a site visit, the following activities should occur:
- Introduce the parents and child to the receiving staff.
- Receiving staff provide a tour of the facility and specific classroom.
- Provide opportunities for parents to ask questions about the program.
